Day 2 (Sort of)
Well I am just about done packing by bags for the inauguration. I can't wait til tomorrow. It seems as if this day would never get here. Last night I went and loaded up on all my supplies to endure the cold weather in DC. I went to Wally World and the guys in the camping/sporting goods section hooked me up with an adhesive warmer for my body, feet and hands. I stocked up on all my thermal gear too. To my surprise, once I left the store in New Bern, I was interviwed by Channel 12 News about the frigid cold weather in the east. I was excited about it and I sat up to watch the 11 o'clock news only to fall asleep and I missed my segment. Can you believe that? Oh well, I must press on. This afternoon I'll be picking up the video camera from my brother in law. I haven't created a checklist but one thing I won't forget are my tickets to the swearing in ceremony and my winter coat. My mother bought a mink coat for the inauguration knowing how I feel about the torture of animals, which is one of the reasons why I don't eat meat. Either way, she is my mom and I love her. I just hope we don't run into any animal rights activists while in DC. What a disaster! I'm watching GMA and I see that Obama has a pretty cool whistletop train ride into DC. I hope that while we're on the Amtrak, we'll get to see him. Who knows? Okay, I can blog all day but I must get on the road to VA. Peace!
