That's me at age 4 or 5. I had a missing "snagga" tooth and an afro but I was cute!
That's me celebrating my birthday with my sister
and her crew in Charlottesville._____________________________________________________________________
Well, today, February 23rd, I have officially turned 31. Wow, time has gone by fast. It seems like yesterday that I was eager to turn 18 and go off to college. Tonight as I sit at my sisters kitchen table, I have my earphones snuggled in and I'm listening to my MP3 player. What am I listening to you might ask? "Feels Like Home" by Chantal Kreviazuk and it is a beautiful song that completely describes where I am in life at this very moment. Home for me is a feeling of comfort, warmth, self-assuredness and peace. I have an overwhelming sense of joy that all is well and that not only is my future looking bright but that I am firm in the plan that God has for me. He has given me responsibility to not lead a life of mediocrity but one of excellence, grace and forgiveness. I have never been at a place in life where I felt completely comfortable in my own skin and at home in my spirit...it feels like home...I am in a place where I belong. After waking up at 7:30 this morning and answering phone calls from birthday wishers, I said to the Lord, "Thank You for another day". I have another day to witness His glory and share His love to others. I have another day to be real and apply His word to my existence. I have another day to tell my family that I love them and another day to receive love from them. I have another day to excel in my academic pursuits and encourage others to do the same. I have so much joy right now. To God Be The Glory!
